Zhang Tianyi is currently a PhD student at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). 

His research interests lie at the intersection of three areas: generative AI for media production and interdisciplinary education. 

Beyond his academic pursuits, Tianyi has demonstrated strong leadership and organisation skill in the AI and creative media community. He served as General Chair for the 2nd HKUST AI Film Festival, which attracted 1,000+ attendees. He also served as Local Logistics SV Chair for SIGGRAPH Asia 2025. 

His professional experience also spans award-winning TV drama productions, Hollywood VFX productions, globally exhibited media art installations.
